MInt System

MInt System is a software package developed by National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) to predict the performance of materials. By inputting the composition, shape, and experimental conditions of a material, it is possible to predict its structure, properties (material characteristics such as physical properties) and performance (properties focused on application aspects such as material lifetime) all at once. At each stage of structure, property and performance prediction, the system can use a combination of computational tools, called modules, based on machine learning, materials engineering theory, and empirical rules, all in an intuitive interface. The system supports solving not only the forward problem of deriving performance from inputs, but also the inverse problem of optimizing composition, shape, and experimental conditions from the desired performance.
