Materials Commons

Materials Commons is an open platform designed to support the storage, sharing, reuse, and reproducibility of data in experimental materials science. Developed primarily at the University of Michigan, it provides comprehensive tools to document and manage experimental processes such as material synthesis, processing, and property evaluation. Users can organize data by project, upload it along with workflows and metadata, and publish it with a DOI to be cited as part of research output. Designed in accordance with the FAIR principles, it ensures the transparency and reproducibility of experimental data and serves as a foundation for collaborative research and data-driven science.
